De Pontische genocide of Griekse genocide (Grieks: Γενοκτονία των Ελλήνων) was een etnische zuvering gepleegd op de christelijke Pontische Grieken in het Ottomaonse Riek tiejens en nae de Eêrste Wereldoorlog tussen 1914-1922 onger leiding van de beweging van de Jonge Turken. Ierbie kwamme vogges verscheie bronnen tussen de 750.000[1] en 900.000 Grieken om bie gedwongen deportaoties en massamoôrden.[2] De Grieken en Turken stonge in de Eêrste Wereldoorlog an tegengestelde kanten en het Jong Turkse regime in Constantinopel zag in de Griekse, net as in de Armeênse christenen, een potentieel vijandige mindereid. Evenas bie de Armeênse Genocide en de Assyrische Genocide vinden verhitte discussies plaes tussen voo- en tegenstanders van het gebruuk van het woord genocide. Verscheie wetenschappers 'ouwe het bie deportaotie en massamoord van de Pontische Grieken, weerbie vaek etnische zivering wor erkend. Turkije ontkent de genocide formeel en verzet z'n eihe tegen internationaole erkenning. Drie lan'n 'ebben de Pontische Genocide erkent, naemelijk Hriekenland, Cyprus en Zweden.

De Griekse Genocide is weinig bekend buten Griekenland. Wellicht speelt een rolle dat tegeliekertied de omvangriekere Armeênse Genocide was. D'r bin herdenkiengsmonumenten in Griekenland, Australië[3], de Vereênigde Staeten, Canada en Duutsland.[4]
